HP Deskjet 2132 Offline – Troubleshoot

Your HP Deskjet 2132 offline issue is seen on the macOS and OSX with a message indicating the status “offline”. When attempting to print a ‘Printer not responding’ message is also displayed.

The Mac cannot communicate with the printer, which means it is offline. When the printer is turned off, or when a USB cable has disconnected, then the offline message is still displayed

For printers that have network connection: In the Printer list on your computer, your printer displays that it is connected to the computer

  • To make sure your printer is connected open the Printer list
  • Wait for the printer to become idle
  • Restart your HP Deskjet 2132 Printer
  • Restart your router if the connection is not restored even after you have restarted your printer
  • On the network finish or close all activity
  • From your router disconnect the power cord
  • This time wait for at least 10 seconds
  • Wait for the router to initialize after connecting the power cord
  • Establish a renewed connectivity to your Internet Service Provider
  • A normal state of the Internet activity light should be indicated before you continue
  • Restart the computer
  • Wait till it is idle
  • Click on the Apple icon
  • Select System Preferences
  • To open the Printers list click Printers and Scanners or Print & Scan or Print & Fax
  • Click Open Print Queue from the HP printer in the Printers list
  • In the device list:
    • If the printer does not display
    • No options for the printer are shown
    • There is no network connection
  • Stop troubleshooting
